No issues here; are you using Boot Camp or VMWare/Parallels?

No I think this belongs here. I have 2 other PC's that do not have these issues. I have even installed Win7 twice and both installations have the same issues on my MBP.

I am not sure if it's a bootcamp driver issue or something else.

dump the bootcamp nvidia driver an grab the current from nvidias website. worked for me a couple times.

if your really ambitious dump all of your bootcamp drivers except the touchpad and pull drivers from the component mfg's

I have had this issue on several MacBook 17" machines including my own. The first one was so bad we had to return it to Apple. Apple's response, "don't run Windows and you won't have a problem".

My response to that twit was I have not had a single Windows machine lock up in years. In fact last time I had an issue with a PC hard freezing like these MacBook's was back in the Windows ME days. So how about instead of being so arrogant how about helping?

He hung up on me, it took 5 calls before I got a tech who had any interest at all in trying to help. His response was they are having issues with Nvidia drivers and it's causing these issues when using IE typically which is where they have been locking for me and my client.

I rebuilt one of the problem machines and used newer drivers straight from Nvidia's site and the problem became much less frequent but still happened, usually at the worst time of course.

When Windows 7 came out I rebuilt my machine and used the newest driver from Nvidia and the issue is cured as far as I can tell. If you replace the driver with that found at Nvidia and continue to have issues try disabling the startup for the Nvidia compatable display driver in MSCONFIG, reboot and see how it does then.

    Good luck!

No matter how often you install, the same video driver is at play, one thing I forgot to mention, I haven't seen this problem on MBP's that have Vista or 7 x86, just x64 versions.

Head over to Nvidia and give the newest 186.81 driver a try.

Not sure if the problem you are describing is the same one that my P530H had after it was upgraded to W7 and reflashed the BIOS.
My problem occurs when IE8 is used to access the internet, but once the internet is accessed; swapping between websites is fine...
Searched thru settings and couldnt find anything to cause this problem.
Switched to Google Chrome which was included in the upgrade software and internet access is effortless....
