The only problem I've found with Windows 7 so far...is that it is very difficult (or impossible) to search specifically for Windows 7 information!

How does one search for web content referencing Windows 7? Previously, search terms like "Vista" and "XP" would return specific results. These search terms could also be used in search engines with a minimum character requirement (usually at least 2 characters, but often 3 or even 4).

For example, what if you want to find some drivers for Windows 7? What do you use for search terms to ensure you are having the most relevant results returned? Yes, searching for "Windows 7" will return *some* results, but will not include results which have referred to the OS as simply "7" or "seven". Also, search engines that require a minimum number of characters will not accept "7" as a search term.

    Proposal:
Does anyone think it would be useful to start using a certain acronym to refer to Windows 7 OS, at least on this board? Maybe it would become common practice on other boards too. How about "Win7"? This is long enough to work in most search engines that have a minimum character requirement and is also a unique search term and so would return a maximum of relevant results.

Thoughts? Is anyone else finding this a problem?

People have been calling it Win7 and W7 for some time now. As for drivers, right now, main support is in the works for GPU's and post-market GPU driver sites. Everything else should be running fine using Vista equivalent drivers (running x64 W7, use x64 Vista drivers).

As for help on W7, the main changes from Vista were outlined in the two support docs that came with the download. I uploaded them here [in .ZIP file] in case you didn't download them:
