I saw this picture and was wondering if removing the taskbar is possible really.. I know there's Auto-Hide, but it doesn't seem to be hiding in the link below because there's the start menu at the top left corner.

Windows Leopard Hackintosh 7 by =FateZoom on deviantART

    How did they do this?

+ If there is a way to remove the taskbar completely.. how would you navigate between windows .. if they are, for example: all minimized? Where would they minimize to?

    Thanks

Not saying that you are, but you are not allowed to discuss Hackintosh on this forum, as Apple does not allow OSX to be installed on an PC

I don't think the picture was of hackintosh. It looked like a Windows Vista with a dock and cool wallpaper.

Its just a theme for windows 7, not hackintosh (IDK why the guy who posted the pic on deviantart named it that)

You basically need to find each of the things that are referenced in the text below the pic - ie. the leopard visual style, the dock (to which things will minimize), and other stuff

Here's a search on deviant art with the many leopard visual styles available: http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/windows7/visualstyle/?qh=&section=&q=leopard

BTW your computer will take a performance hit for these things

Um, I just wanted to know how he removed the taskbar/superbar but kept the start menu. He definitely didn't use auto-hide.

This will get rid of the taskbar: Taskbar Eliminator - Aviassin

And then you can use something like object dock to which apps will minimize. (Object dock will also let you have a button in the dock open the start menu)

A free alternative to object dock is rocketdock, and it does much of the same: http://rocketdock.com/

    From the comments at deviantART:
^^^Unfortunately the author of that screenshot doesn't remember what he used.

Combined with Taskbar Eliminator v3loc1ty2.0 posted, you could try one of the start menu alternative programs. Many of the alternative Start Menus are intended to mimic XP's (cascading) start menu and extend functionality.

Here is a link to a comprehensive list of alternatives on Classicshell's website (Classicshell itself is a Start Menu alternative too): http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/alternatives.html

It might be a skin that just has no/totally transparent taskbar elements in it , too.
