Ok so im probably asking a dumb question, but i never used Vista, and i have been using Win 7 for about 4 months. when i decided i wanted to delete things from the system( ie stuff like the microsoft games) i have run into things like "need permisson from TRUSTED INSTALLER" or" need permission from Admin", i have user account control turned off, and i have all permissons allowed on my account, is there something im missing? how do i set it up so that i have complete permissions to delete ever i want?

if someone would be so kind as to help me i would appreciate it.
    thanks
    Danny

Windows 7 (Vista was similar in this) is set up in a way for people not to be able to delete stuff they are not meant to delete and break something.

It can be disabled and enabled again without inserting a Windows disc which means that by disabling it you do not gain any space at all.

By deleting all that you might free up what, 2gb or so? I'd recommend buying a larger HDD or even a USB stick, 15 bucks for 8gb...much easier.

Turning off features just removes them, and you gain nothing lol.. as Szadzik said.

Why do you feel the need to delete things? Unless you're running on antiquated hardware (like a laptop from 2002 when the standard hard drive size was 30 GB), you stand to gain very little from deleting these components.

Typically, you don't start seeing appreciable performance loss unless your hard drive is almost completely full (think above 90% for something like a 250 GB hard drive) and fragmented. Even if it is, you're better off moving personal files (particularly media) off the drive.

Uninstall as many features as you may. The reason we steer you away from this course because it is rarely a path that leads to substantial performance boosts, HD space or productivity gains.

Unchecking those options do NOT uninstall the feature, merely just disables them and prevents you from viewing.

Case in point: if you "remove" the games now, tomorrow you change your mind and thus, get them back.

The practices of XP need not be applied in the usage of Vista and Windows 7.

There is nothing for you to fix. Leave it alone and let it work.
