I needed to reinstall Vista since it was running for 8 months without a format (hell, that's the longest I went without a format!!!!) so I said to hell with it and put windows 7 on my pc (Specs in siggy).

Upon installing the drivers and all that crap, I noticed that my Acer H233H 1080p monitor was not being allowed to go to the proper resolution of 1920x1080 and instead getting set to "1920x1080p - Optimized @ 1776x1000" in CCC for my 4850. The resolution being "Optimized" causes stretching to happen so anything that should be perfectly circular, ends up being oval, even the start orb .

Now I reinstalled the drivers several times, used driver cleaner etc.

I do not have these problems with Vista Ultimate 64 or XP 32.

    I was running Windows 7 RC 1 Build 7100 - Ultimate x64.

If you let Windows 7 install the drivers, you should try installing the Vista 64 bit drivers that came with the computer.

my computer is a custom built by me, as in I bought all the individual parts and assembled the pc myself so no drivers came with the PC.

I think you need to go here:

    http://forum.desktopreview.com/

Since this is a laptop forum, you'll find better support on a desktop forum. However, my earlier statement holds true - use Vista drivers from the hardware manufacturers instead of letting Windows 7 find and install drivers. You also should visit the manufacturer websites and look for Windows 7 drivers.

Go into the control panel, delete the 'optimised' profile for your screen, and force 1920x1200@60/59hz.

    Should fix the issue.
