Going to be picking an external drive for my windows 7 64 bit laptop, and need to know whether anyone here uses the "7" bkup utility or if they stick with the software provided by the external hd mfg, and why.
Does the windows bkup utility have any advantages at all?

    Thanks...

Windows 7 Backup utility is great and nice.

I have been using that for regular complete PC and system backup.

(Apart from that, I use Syncback for backing up data files onto another hard disk which I use exclusively for data.)

The only issue i found with the built in windows backup is that the backup drive has to be the same size as your main windows partition... personally i would use something like goodsync to make sure your files are always backed up on a 2nd drive
