I'm getting a new laptop in December, and I just wanted to transfer all of my software from my old laptop(running Vista Home Premium SP1) and I wanted to know if the software will all be compatible with the new OS. It will be after the official release, not the beta. Thanks everyone!

    The answer is "most likely".

Since my telepathy only works on Tuesdays, I'll get back to you next week when I find out what programs you're referring to.

Was about to add something along those lines.. :D
Most will BUT there's always some that will not so check the homepages for each app to be sure. Or run setup/install in Compatibility mode : Vista sp2. with Run as Admin and save. If programs have already been installed you could try right click the main program exe file or short cut and do as follows, Compatibility mode: Vista sp2. with Run as Admin and save.

you can also run windows upgrade adviser on your older laptop to see if that tool will find any software that might have issues with windows 7.

Almost everything works in Windows 7 at this point, if it doesn't right now, it most likely will when release time comes around. And if it still doesn't work then you can use compatibility modes to make it work.
