This just started a few weeks back.

I have the computer set to sleep when I close the lid, with it to hibernate after 30 minutes. The computer sleeps, but it NEVER hibernates now. Used to work fine.

So if I don't use the computer for a day or so, I open it up to find a low battery since it never hibernates.

Any ideas? I've tried going back to default settings, changing everything by 5 minutes again, etc. Nothing works. Could it be drivers? Anything else? I just can't figure why it used to work properly and just stopped at some point.

Try disabling hibernation in win 7, restart the compter, and then enable hibernation, then test.
If this fixes it prob. a corrupted hiberfil.sys

Sounds like you might need to set your power profile to "allow wake timers" to "enable". It should be on by default, but that can causes issues.
