OK I have searched and searched .... all I need is a calendar/agenda (NOT OUTLOOK OR GOOGLE, and nothing that is on-line)... an agenda/calendar that works on Windows 7 and also easily syncronizes with an Iphone. I am willing to pay for it but can't find anything simple yet decent. I thought there should be Iphone Apps that also have a Windows 7 component, and one syncs with the otehr etc ...drives me nuts. I need the program for friend who is older. So he can type his schedule on his Windows 7 computer, simply plug in his Iphone and ready !! ANYONE any ideas ?

It appears that you can sync an iPhone, via iTunes, with Microsoft Outlook. Since it's part of the Office suite, it may be more than you want to pay though.

why not an online solution? does he not have internet? if so, that's a valid request. if it's just some fear-based thing, it's invalid.

but yes, itunes syncs calendars. does it only with outlook? hm.. don't know.

looking at this list, your choice is quite limited(if any) given the requirement

List of applications with iCalendar support - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would say get a copy of Office(with outlook) as that is the best desktop option. For online, you have much wider choice.

I still think outlook is the best(assuming no online) as whatever money you can save will be outweighed by future support issues as you said it is not for your own use.
