The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Windows 10 Store broken

    It seems I am not the only one seeing this. The store is greyed out and therefore all metro apps are not functioning. I had left the metro photo viewer on but now had to move everything to the old viewer.

    I was just about to look at this as passable but this is ridiculous. Forced updates, blah.......

    I got lucky, if you call it that, by doing a system restore to the earliest point. Now too see if system updates break it again.

    Edit; The three updates available did not break the store. So far so good but there is something funky when several people hit the M$ answer site with the same issue.
