This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Got a large music collection on hd, many, many years of WA use and always coming back to it after testing other players.

    WA nov 2013 version, loads\starts playing instantly, behaving perfect. No insecurity afaik (?). And it got one (unique?) feature that I highly appreciate: crossfade.

    Will test the updated one. Now let's hope their future plans don't turn it into some overkill of bloat and features, and wishing them success.

    I just custom installed it and de-selected the video support as I use MPC-HC and Splash Player for videos. I then selected the classic theme and it was all good! Love it!

    the updated Winamp 5.8 version is only in full edition but works well
    a 6.0 version is being planned for sometime next year
