i think i've found a bug in the power options in windows 7. the specs for my laptop are in my sig, this is the machine i'm dual booting win 7 on. my problem is that, it seems windows 7 is disregarding my settings on when the laptop goes to sleep, and what closing the lid does. i've got the setting for both "closing the lid" and "power button" to put the computer to sleep, but instead of doin this, pushing the power button and closing the lid both cause the laptop to shut down instantly. anyone else have this problem? this is the only thing stopping me from using Win 7 the majority of the time; the laptop shutting down everytime i shut it for transport is a bit annoying :/

best thing to do is to just report the problem to windows, so they can hopefully fix it for the real thing

hmm...looks like this isnt just a Windows 7 problem. my Vista basic installation is showing the same behavior now :/

ya dont reckon the windows 7 install could have messed up my BIOS or something, do ya?
