I have my laptop set to hibernate when I close the lid. It has done this twice now, I will close my lid either way pluged in and not and it will end up taking 5 minutes to shut down and then when I start it back up from it, it shows windows has recovered from an error screen. When I check the event viewer there is a critical error. Below is what the event viewer said with the critical error. This is more then frustrating for me. Anyone else have issues going into hibernation on windows 7 64 bit premium? Its funny cause I cant reproduce it when I want, its only when Im in hurry and need the thing to work that it wont hibernate and drives me bonkers. It could be leaving program running or something when closing the lid makes it error, but I don know I wouldnt think that would do it.

Most hibernation errors I've encountered seem to be related to bios issues. Is there a BIOS update for your PC?

Sleep and hibernation depends on os, drivers and all running software to work in perfect condition.

Even if you get it working it can fail after a software update or new software install again.

In my opinion it is not worth to risk to get the disk corrupt or fry computer parts for non professional users.

no no neither of those programs. Its more frustrating then a hinderance because I cant reproduce it,its just that one time it doesnt work lol. Im not sure whats causing it but I posted on lenovos support site. Its just a simple task for god sakes, why must it be so difficult. I read the memory is needed to make the image hibernation uses, so far when It has done it to me I havent shut the laptop down or restarted it in any way for more then prob 48-72 hours so the memory might be low and unable to make the image to be stored but thats just a fart in the wind guess.
