Does anyone know if we can request a 64-bit version of Windows 7 with the free upgrade even though our OS as of now is 32-bit Vista? I wanna take full advantage of my 4 gigs of ram..

I believe the upgrade disks will ship with both 32 and 64bit versions.

That's what Microsoft has previously posted on their Windows 7 FAQ, although it's not there anymore.

My friend who works at Best Buy said you would choose which one you wanted, but I sure hope Microsoft keeps it that way...

I suggest you contact your laptop manufacturer for details.

however you get it (through manufacturer or retail), an upgrade "kit" will come with both 32bit and 64bit OS update discs.

don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.
