    Dear All,

I have noticed that the font's and appearance of some program's have been altered from what it was before - I don't know if this was following some theme' I was trying to use / customize, though I have uninstalled those themes long back.

Some program' like Syncback, trillian, mozbackup show thinner, sharp font's while before it used to be kind of thick and bold... also in trillian for example, the lay out of the contact's are mixed up now, overlapping each other a bit when arranged in rows with big icons.

Is there any way to go back to default font' of windows? or is the only option is to do a system restore to a date before I was messing around with the theme's? I would prefer avoiding system restore, as much as possible..

Can someone please let me know?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Cheers

I'm not sayin that this will fix everything, but here are two things to try -

    - The fast way: Go to Personalization and pick a stock Windows theme, this should restore all fonts to original settings, well unless you have uninstalled some fonts or themes.
After doing that, use the four icons in the bottom ( Desktop background/Window color/Sounds/Screen saver) to personalize it. Finally, save your new, personalized theme so you don't have to do all these changes the next time.

    - The controlled way: Personalization > Window color > Advanced appearence settings..
Here you can control all or most fonts used in Windows.
Remember to drop the annoying Border padding to 0 and set the Active title bar to 18, you don't really have to do it but it makes Windows look better IMO.

Your font files might have been corrupted.

If above suggestion doesn't work, try checking which fonts look wrong, and reinstall those font files.

Thanks, checked but all fonts are smaller than usual.

Tried restoring default fonts in windows 7.. still the same.

And strangely, I have this problem solved now

I don't have this random resizing that I was having all along (ever since I posted the issue on that ^ thread)

Anyway, now I am trying to increase the font size (scaling the dpi a bit) to see how it is.. Let me check.

Update: Looks like there is/was something wrong with the DPI scaling!

I was playing around last night, looking for possible places / options that might be resulting in the tiny fonts and appearances, and while increasing the DPI scaling to 150% (or fixed at a custom level, without windows XP style DPI scaling) and going back to the default 125% seems to have brought back everything to how it was...

I have no idea behind the tech reason' though.. I guess the font' and size' got messed up when I was trying out some themes..

    Cheers and Thanks.
