    Specs are in my signature.

I mainly use my laptop for internet, multimedia entertainment (music, video, games, pictures), communication (MSN Live Messenger, Skype) and light Office work.

I place a big premium on smooth multitasking. At any one time I could be chatting on MSN, listening to iTunes, browsing Facebook, watching YouTube and running numbers in Excel and generally I'm able to smoothly transition back and forth between programs using Vista.

I should also add that I play Flight Simulator X and Company of Heroes, both of which run stable on my laptop, at medium settings.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to run 64-bit, but 32-bit should be fine.

Core 2 Duo means it will run 64-bit fine.

Gaming depends, but it should be fine for everything else. In terms of movies, 1080p might lag you a bit due to the CPU.

It's fine for you to run W7 well on this laptop, but look at this way:
_ Can you actually listen to music on Itunes and watch youtube at the same time? lol I' m jut kidding.
But anyway, the specs of yours will be fine with W7 32 bit since it just has 2gb of ram. But 1 question is that can you really run FSX on this laptop and at what configuration?

Ah, so Windows 7 is a more optimized cousin of Vista then? That's great because my laptop generally* handles Vista pretty well as it, so to be told that I can expect even better performance with Windows 7 is great news

*occasionally I'll get freezing/lagging and "Not Responding" errors though

Excellent, because that was to be my next question!

Ha ha, like I said in the OP, I interchange back and forth between Windows, so I pause and unpause! ;)

I can indeed. I'm not a hardcore FS user by any stretch of the imagination, but I generally run the game at medium-high settings and performance is acceptable

Thanks for all the feedback guys. :)

I had the same laptop (in sig) with Win 7 and it ran fantastically.

Now one of my good friends owns it and they are as of yet very pleased with it and Windows 7.

1080p video shouldn't be an issue with DXVA.

I think he was referring to the 2GB of RAM when he mention the 64-bit version.

And that CPU is more than enough for playing 1080p videos.
