    My laptop is t7300 c2d 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, 8600m gs w/ 256mb, 160hdd 5400rpm.

When i use itunes like to use the cover flow view or album view, with the picture of the album. But when i scroll down on the side or scroll through the albums in the cover flow view, the transition is very choppy and not smooth. Does anyone know why? Thanks!

iTunes just runs slow. You need to wait for all the albums to load before jumping from one side to another. If you have a very large collection (200 covers+), it'll take even longer.

I believe you have an Nvidia chipset. There are some issues with iTunes and the Nvidia chipset, specifically the SATA driver. It's a big finger pointing issue. Apple blames Nvidia and Nvidia blames Apple. Apple has had an update or two lately and Nvidia released updated drivers in attempts to minimize the problem.

I suggest you check into the latest iTunes build and latest drivers from Nvidia.

Your iTunes is running choppy because everyone would complain if iTunes took the time to scan every mp3 in your library for artwork and then load each image into your cache every time you started the program.
