I'm running Vista Ultimate, and have been for about 8 months now. I've never had this problem until about two weeks ago when all of the sudden, I can't rename files or folders any more. The error I get when I try to rename something is "Rename: The file or folder does not exist." But it's not that I'm trying to rename something that's not there. If I create a new folder, it comes out titled New Folder like always, but when I type in a new name, that's the error I get.

I reformatted my computer today to get rid of the problem (and I have a habit of reformatting a lot), but it didn't work. Well, it did for awhile, but with my last restart, my renaming ability has disappeared. Any ideas?

    EDIT:
I just found another topic with the same issue, though no solution has been reached. Please help us out. Vista - Can't Rename Folders
