The Window Updates for Defender are fairly big compared to other anti-spyware programs. 2MB every 2 weeks? at that pace its going to eat up 48MB in a year, and it hasnt even caught or prevented anything yet, compared to AdAware & Spybot

Right now Im only using it for its real-time defense and the Windows name, but im thinkin otherwise

I had it on my laptop and desktop for 6 months and it never found anything so I uninstalled it. I use Adaware, Spybot, AVG Antispyware and Win Patrol. Altogether they work extremely well.

I've had it for as long as it has been available. It hasn't caught anything that I know of, while Ad Aware and Spybot sometimes find one or two. But never in Windows Defender.

I don't think its necessary of an app. Spybot + Ad Aware will cover anti-spyware.
