    Hello there everyone,

just a quickie, what cd and dvd burning software does anyone use. I've been using Nero for ages and i'm getting a little sick of it, as it keeps crashing and making coasters.

    What does anyone alse use.

    Cheers

    Jamie

Been using Nero 7, burned audio disks, a few home made dvds, and a TON of data dvds of anime, only one coaster so far. Maybe its the type of cd's/dvd's you use. I use tdk

    Nero 6.

    (or Nero 7)

your coaster's are not Nero's fault. promise.

either the dvd's you are using are low quality and are coastering
or your dvd rw drive is messed up
or possibly your dvd drive just doesnt like the dvd's you are using

i would try using a different brand dvd for a cheap way to test my hypothesis.

I just use the most basic roxio that came with my computer. Pretty much all I need is the ability to burn data dvds/cds and music cds (not really now cuz of iPods)

Nero does get points for it's tweakability, but all those settings tend to confuse and frighten people that "just want to burn a DVD."

I haven't used the PC version much myself, but I'm a big fan of Roxio Toast under OS X... and it hasn't confused any of the sales reps who use it in the front offfice (yet). :)

Nero. By far the best burning program out there.

I would choose nero 6 over Nero 7, Nero 6 seems faster and more stable.
    but depends,your mileage may vary.

Ditto the above - get a copy of Nero 6, which is where the software peaked in reliability and features. Nero 7 is showing the "Norton effect", bloating and subsiding into excess, IMHO.

ugh, how can you all stand nero? its menus are so unintuitive. i like roxio, i think i have version 7. i always use classic mode, the others are stupid.

I like Prassi ONES, great little tool and so small. Burns best quality and offers every single feature you could ask for in a package as small as 2MB! I used Nero for a long time but since they blew up the size bejond good and evil and included tools nobody needed (heck, if I wann work with videos I rather use VirtualDub or something) I got rid of it. ONES is so much better!
