I have 40 GB SATA hard drive on my system with single partition C. I checked my HD properties and according to it I have only about 6.6 GB empty space left. On the other hand the space used is only about 14 GB. I wonder where is the rest of my HD space.
I am running xp Home SP2.

Perhaps you have a big temp file stuck in there somewhere.

Ok, I must ahve told I am using a recovery programme RollbackRx. But I don,t think it is eating around 16 GB of my space.

that's probably it. depending on how you have it configured, it's saving rollback points along the way which eat your HD space quite quickly.

Yes, you are right. I just checked the properties of my system snapshots in RollBackRx and the space is taken by snapshots as I took about 5 snapshots and it is not visible through windows except through RollbackRx itself.
    Thanks.

This is perfect for your situation. It sorts files by folders, from largest to smallest, in a nice graphical user interface, allowing you to delete files on the fly. I use it and find it valuable. Reply back with what the file(s) was/were.

    Hi..

Here is a really great free program that gives you a graphical representation of all the files and space on your hard drive.

A friend of mine had a similar problem and found that the program he was usning to put music into his mp3 player was keeping copies of songs in a folder, taking up huge amounts of space. try it.
