This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     What's the difference between Standby, Sleep, and Hibernate?

    Hibernate: Save the contents of RAM to the harddrive, then shut down (which means it is completely shut down, and uses no power). When you turn the computer on, it'll reload everything from the harddrive to RAM, and resume.
    Sleep/Standby: Keep RAM powered on, so you can instantly resume. But uses a bit of power still.
