I have a Lenovo X201t. I'd like to have a portable O/S that I can boot to for personal work when I don't want to boot into the main deal.

What would you use? Windows 7? Windows XP? Ubuntu? Is there a way that I can also combine that with a portable apps USB and file storage for a 'lifestick'? Would love to know what y'all do to create a second instance on a work machine.

I would stick with something Linux based.

newest flavor of Ubuntu boots up fast from a class 6 16gb sd card. I use it on my laptop if I need to look something up online real quick or if I need to repair a machine it comes in handy
