Would it be better to encode my video in WMV 9 720P or MPEG 2 720P for uploading to Youtube?

    None..
    Use H.264 or MPEG4 AVC.

Or you can just upload the video to youtube instead of encoding the video twice.

I'm using a video editor so I have to encode it. It has AVC HD 720P using h.264 video encoder. So that is better then the other two?
I don't care about size as long as my video is under a gigabyte. I just want the best quality.

mpeg4 avc would be your best choice.

I don't have the option to use that.
Or it might. I might have to do a custom configuration. I'll try that after this video is done encoding using h.264.

h.264 is the same thing as mpeg4 avc, at least for 99.999% of the people.

Okay, I guess I'm encoding it in the right format then?
Guess I'm going to judge for myself what the video looks like.

I just finished encoding it and it turned out really blocky. Is this supposed to happen? I'm trying WMV 720P now.

Which video editor are you using?
    What settings are you using?
