I have the Realtek Drivers on my toshiba Satellite, and they are nothing but unreliable.

I start a movie in VLC and it gives me sound until I stop and start again.

Streaming audio will lock up my browsers in youtube and myspace sometimes. Youtube will simply pause and not play and my browers crash until I restart my computer.

I am running Vista with the newest updates...any ideas or does anyone have this issue?

I would say try a different driver if you haven't already. Just because a driver is the newest, doesn't necessarily mean it will be the best fit for your machine. Check both the manufacturer (i.e. Toshiba) and Windows update for drivers.

To install an earlier version, go into Device manager, right click on your audio device and uninstall. Then install the driver you want to try.

Try Realtek R1.94 driver from their site. It's the latest driver 2008/5/23.

You can try uninstalling it and seeing if Windows' built-in audio driver works.
