    What is "Generic Software Component"?

    I've always had 3 of these entries in my device manager, never knew what they were for.

    Finally I decided to look up the HWID in MUC to see what they were. One was Intel iCLS, the other 2, Intel Management something something. From what I gather they're all a part of the IMEI cartel.

    Is it actually worth installing these drivers?

    I would say yes if those are the same driver for the same O/S. Was this a self install from the OEM install? This is the reason why you would be missing these drivers. For factory install matching the O/S these drivers would be installed already. So is this a custom install or something else?
