It was recently pointed out to me that the caps lock is a pretty useless key, yet it is a HUGE key on the keyboard. What key have you mapped your caps lock to?
    Any other key mappings?

When i enter student grades, it's rather invaluable. It's an A, not an a and well, given that you always enter a bunch of them at the same time, it ends up being quite useful. That's just me though.

I have a wireless keyboard that doesn't have a Caps Lock light so I mapped it to be a shift key so I don't have to go back and retype when I accidently hit it looking for the 'A'...

I see no reason as to why someone would remap the caps lock key unless your talking about gaming in which case I'd remap it.

I insert a small piece of foam rubber under it, key still works when needed but needs a firm press = no more unexpected SCREAMING ;)

I use it as caps lock for QWERTY but when I type in Colemak its backspace.

It makes a BIG difference in ergonomics and finger travel since backspace is so far away and used by your weakest finger, try it for a day and you will notice how much easier it is very quickly and also how much more natural it is. You use backspace way more than capslock I am sure and you can always set backspace to be capslock if you actually need that key.

Windows XP on a Netbook, using AutoHotKey

Caps Lock launches my Toolbar for quick launching of software. Shift + Caps Lock toggles it as usual.
Alt Gr (right Alt key) is mouse middle click (I never use a mouse)
Apps Key (on the right between Alt Gr and Ctrl) is mouse right click

Win Key + many keys for various functions and text input

[ Key then shortcut text creates various long text that I use regularly

Then there are some simple text shortcuts that I use a lot. EG: atb =

All the best, woz of oz
