    Hello,

I know there are a ton of firewall products out there and many people have strong feelings about the one they like. I typically have used blackice only because I had a license and I'm familiar with it. I've never had a problem with it before but for some reason you get the BSOD on the sony. (I didn't realize that was causing the problem since I installed a ton of software at the same time so I ended up reformatting my PC with a vanilla Windows and then had it crash right after I installed blackice - uninstalling it resolved the issue).

If there is a simple firewall app you would recommend I would appreciate it. I have a license already for Norton AV corp which does not have any firewall and I'd like to keep my apps seperate after experiencing mcaffee's all in one solution.

I'd like to jump on this bandwagon, and see if anyone knows of a good firewall for multiple wi-fi networks. So when I'm at home it'll automatically use that network with those security fetures, when I'm at school it'll automatically use that network with those securit features, and alert me when I come across a new network asking how secure I want it.

Zone Alarm is one of the most comprehensive. Some think it's annoying, but configured correctly it is outstanding. Keeps everything out for me. I use Pro, but the free version is great too!

It will allow you to customize network settings.

yeah i have no need for too much firewall since i'm always on wirelss and routers almost always have the built in firewalls that i already mentioned.

Been using NetVeda's SafetyNet as of late. Seems to have less issues than ZoneAlarm adn is less annoying than Kerio.

I use Zonealarm without a hitch and would strongly recommend it. Another possibility would be Sygate Personal Firewall. Both are free and effective but Zonealarm rocks!

I follow the same school of thought as KidA. I also think ZoneAlarm is a horrible piece of software.
