For this purpose I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory. It's not free, but there's a 30 day fully functional demo. And if you plan to do this a lot it's probably not a bad purchase. www.ulead.com

I suggest you to use a more specific topic title so others know what you are asking. :)

Yes, that's a very good idea. Check out the software specifically under CD/DVD/Image Burning. Trying them all to see which one you like best is a good idea but you may need a DVD-RW to be able to test for differences without needing to buy multiple DVD-R's.

You can also check the list of tools at VideoHelp.com. I personally use FAVC to author DVDs and ImgBurn to burn them.

    ImgBurn for free

Nero if you wanna have $$

Nero is still good, they havent made much improvements though. I only use nero because its also got a lightscribe editor and burner

I just use the one that comes with my notebook Roxio Easy Media Creator. I like it because it is very simple and straightforward to use. Good enough for your purpose. Nero is overkill for my need and I would consider it as a bloatware.

I wouldn't mention it if I was using Memorex. Get yourself some decent disks. Verbatim are a lot better and cost about the same as Memorex.
