When I hold Ctrl down (trying to make multiple selection) my cursor disappears, thus making it impossible to actually make multiple selections. Its driving me crazy, and I cant seem to find anything on the web about this problem except one post saying that I can try to disable hardware graphic acceleration (didnt work).

This doesnt happen in any other office program but it did happen for a little bit in windows explore when i was trying to select multiple files (doesn't happen anymore)

I have office 2010, and the laptop is a levono x220

I had this issue after installing a Logitech mouse. The issue happened with the software on the system, regardless of whether the mouse was plugged in or not. Removing their software solved it.
