Ive had a weird problem on my comp since i got it a few months ago, the specs are in my sig. The problem im having is that once in a while, my computer will start refusing to click on anything or roll over anything, like, if ill switch windows from firefox to outlook and then i wont be able to click on anything in firefox, and none of the buttons will react to me rolling over them. So the only way for me to interact with any of my windows is by using keyboard shortcuts. The only way i have found to fix it short term is to go into ctrl alt delete and start the task manager then click back to my windows, then it starts working again, but it will usually come back. It went away for a couple of days and now came back..i dont really know what to do about it, i think its a W7 glitch but i have no idea...
    any suggestions appreciated

Are you using a wireless mouse? Sometimes the down click of a button will register and the release click won't. Try re-plugging in your receiver.

its not a mouse problem, the problem exists whether i use a wired mouse, wireless or the touchpad

also, that wouldnt explain the buttons not reacting to me rolling over them

Well maybe this should be moved to the Windows 7 subforum...

Thing is though, I haven't heard of such a problem...

You could try replacing your mouse's drivers... that's about all I could think off...

My mouse/touchpad freezes on occasion too when using IE7 but taskmanager will shut down IE and have to restart the program again then won't have the problem anymore. Could be some background program is interfering with the mouse/touchpad.
