    Hello everyone,

I am having a peculiar problem running flash video (youtube, cnet...) on my Asus 1015PN netbook. My netbook has the Nvidia ION graphics card for hardware acceleration.

The problem is that the youtube, cnet or other flash videos load for one second and then the player crashes under certain circumstances. For instance, I can see the play, volume and resolution controls (i.e. 720p) on youtube for one second, then the player crashes.

What is strange is that flash video doesn't work when my computer is on battery power AND when the power scheme in Windows 7 is set to Balanced or Power Saver. Flash video DOES work when the computer is plugged into AC power on all power settings and on battery ONLY when the power scheme is set to high performance. Also a few notes below:

    1) I can play the flash videos on battery when on high performance, but the moment I change my power scheme to power saver or balanced, the flash video immediately crashes.

    2) I can play the flash videos when on AC power on balanced, but the moment I unplug the AC adapter, the flash video immediately crashes.

    3) I noticed that unchecking the hardware acceleration option while on battery and on the balanced or power saver scheme does allow me to play flash video, but I am unable to play 720p and up videos due to the lack of hardware acceleration.

    I am really stumped...

It is probably dropping down your CPU clock when you go on the power saver option.

Possible. Is there any way to change it from doing that?

Also, Asus comes with a utility (Asus Super Hybrid Engine) that overclocks and underclocks the CPU at a certain percentage and it can be done without restarting the computer. Changing the setting of the ASHE (High performance, performance and energy saver) does not seem to change anything.

You can change the Window's power settings for when you are on battery.

Have you tried enabling or disabling Aero? It probably won't make a difference, but I think it's worth a shot at least.

@atbnet You mean the Min/Max CPU levels? I tried moving them both to 100% and that doesn't seem to fix the issue.

@namaiki Just tried doing that but doesn't seem to fix it either

Thanks for the responses so far guys! Any other ideas?
