So I've got 2 Thinkpad T400 laptops, one for myself and one for my daughter. Both are pretty high-specced and running vista sp1.

I've noticed for few months now that my outlook 2007 mailbox (my corp one) is pretty slow to connect, i.e. when outlook starts it read "trying to connect to exchange", then after ~2 minutes is changes to "connected to microsoft exchange" and all is well.

I have looked at this few times, my PC support guys checked as well, but no one had a solution for it. I'm re-building my laptop quite often, moving between OS, etc. so this was never really explored thoroughly. this weekend it really annoyed me when I moved from windows 7 back to vista, due to a certain app not running well on the beta. After the build, it took outlook 2 full minutes to connect...

So, I've narrowed the issue down to the mobile broadband driver. Without it installed (the mini-card is in, but the SW is not installed or removed), outlook connects in a second. Install the driver, reboot - takes 2 minutes.

That is pretty odd TBH. I'm not sure why a WWAN driver would impact the performance of outlook.

Anyone has a comment on this wierd issue? does anyone suffer from the same problem?

    Thanks,

    NC.

This is not getting any attention here unfortunately...

Mods - can you move this to the IBM\Lenovo section please?
