That's only a Photoshoped picture... I doubt it will happen, if anytime soon.
And as people suggested, if it does happen, it will probably full of Google's bloat with a Linux distro anyways.

If Google does ever release an operating system (eh), it will be linux based. It will be tied very closely into Google's "Cloud" vision for computing, with everything running Google Gears and syncing online any time an internet connection is detected.

99% compatibility, eh? That would include games then.

As it is, a Google OS is probably under development or in some sort of pre-Alpha stage, but eventually a custom OS would fit decently into their philosophy.

This all means little to me, UNLESS they somehow work DX support or emulation in, in which case I can play games, in which case I will go to Google Headquarters and buy everyone a copy of Beyond Good & Evil from Steam after I am done hugging them all.

yes, it's one of my blogs, to show a "simulation" of a (possible) Google OS

these are my "dream's specs" for GoOS, of course :)

I doubt Google will use Linux for its OS since it may want to have a full control and ownership of the OS code, and, yes, I fear its OS will be full of G-spywares... :(

yes, it's a just a "simulation" of a (possible) Google OS, that, however, I believe it will happen... and SOON... also, I did not agree it will be Linux derived ...but it could be also a Linux OS despite it's not the best strategic choice

but (both) Chrome and GoOS will have other releases... :)

not a fake, but just a simulation of a (possible) Google OS

it's one possible option of many (better) choices

it's one of my "dream's specs" then, yes, the "dream" include 99% games compatibility :)

I agree, GoOS will be a custom OS... about Alpha & Beta, we don't know nothing about Google Labs' research, so, its OS could be ready and they only wait the "right day" to release it...

but you pay 100+ dollars for it... while, GoOS should be 100% FREE

that's awesome! please send me a copy of your OS !!! :)

english is not my mother language, then, it's not easy for me to answer/reply too much questions in a single post, one reply per post is simpler

GoOS should give you the option to use the file system you want :)

    Google OS *shakes head*

Yes Google certainly wants to rule the world, and they are doing a good job of being the the key masters and gatekeepers of information, like how they hand over IPs to the Chinese Gov't of people who type "unlawful" searches into Google from there... anyways I don't think a Google OS would fly all that well. Just some fanboy users would be my guess. Unless it penetrates the market and every comp sold comes with Google OS. Not impossible but very doubtful.

Why are you saying that Google Chrome has a keylogger in it? Obviously, it does not. My AV or nothing picks it up. Are you a hater on Google or what? I don't get you. Google would also never do this.

A anti virus wouldn't necessarily pick up a keylogger. The source is open, so it would be kind of hard for Google to hide something like this. But it does raise the question of user privacy.

everything is explained in this blog:

    http://mmi.medianima.com/2008/09/03/the-google-chrome-keylogger/#more-1398

I'm not a programmer, so, it's not easy to understand for me, but, it seems that this blog's author has used a Borland utility to detect the background work of Chrome and he says that Chrome send every keystroke to a google server

Hit the multi-quote button for each post you want to quote and then hit the 'quote' button(next to the multi-quote button) on one of them. That should do it.

As for the google OS, if they release it and take it out of beta :p, then good for them since choices are always good for us.
