When upgrading from vista 64 to W7 64, it gets through the first bit and through 18% on expanding files and reboots. It then goes into the installation again, but doesn't progress from 18% on expanding files. It goes from "windows is gathering information" to "gathering information". I've tried twice, and use virtual clonedrive to mount it. I was informed that if I was just upgrading OS, then I would only need to mount it, but should I burn it to a disk?

Burn it. I had the same problem once with the Vista beta and it was all due to a bad burn.
