Is there any way to disable sync center? It's just sooooo damn pointless. It informs me that my Zen syncs with Windows Media Player. I know that already. After I sync, it can tell me that I synced. I know that. I don't need software to tell me what I did.

And, for some reason it prevents auto-play. What i want, is for when i connect my Zen, Windows should ask me what I want to do. (sync with media player, browse files, etc). I have it set to do so in the autoplay settings. however instead all that happens is the Sync Center icon appears in my damn task bar, and i can click that to sync using WMP. But that's pointless. If I want to sync with WMP, i'll click WMP! ugh.....

    any help?

    1. control panel
    2. Control panel home (on the blue side panel)
    3. Click network and internet heading
    4. Under offline files you can open up the option to turn off the feature.
    5. requires restart to complete

OK for those who don't have Vista Ultimate. If you do not want the sync center starting up simply remove the program from Vista's System32 Root Folder. Once you do that, the program will no longer sync media and manage sync media.

it should be mobsync.exe. It is located (assuming That C:\ is your Default drive) C:\Windows\System32\mobsync.exe.

Don't delete it! Just cut and paste it outside of System32 folder and you should not see it in system tray!

Hope this works for you. It did for me!

    Hi

I tried to cut & paste mobsync.exe but Vista won't let me, says i need special permissions so i right clicked on mobsync.exe and tried to choose "full control" under PROPERTIES>SECURITY>PERMISSIONS but vista says "unable to save changes to mobsync. Access is denied". I am logged as Administrator and UAC is turned off. Any tips?
    Thanks :)
