will vista feature mac's bonjour like technology?

for those who don't know what bonjour is; it is simply one of mac's great features. it allows you to connect to other devices like you never thought possible. for example; i just connect my computer to my printer without configuring anything! i just select the printer i wanna use; and just print! that might sound ordinary but... the printer is not on a network and that i connect it via an ethernet cable and through my wifi router!

here's a diagram to help u to understand

macbook -> wireless router -[ethernet cable]-> printer -> print

Not sure, it's certainly possible it could though, Bonjour is just Apple's specific implementation of zeroconf:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeroconf

I had read that Vista definitely is featuring some kind of new peer to peer technology along with a new networking stack, and it sounded a lot like zeroconf... although I also read that it wasn't exactly zeroconf, but at least somewhat similar.

I think in Vista it is all under the "Windows Collaboration" label.

I wouldn't be surprised, I'd certainly expect so given what I've read of this so far (albeit that isn't much).

interesting... though the language they use is very technical.. i can get that they want people to connect with sort of p2p technology, i'm not sure if they can figure out how to connect to other device; such as printer, or scanner etc. via my configuration... i'll be very dissapointed if they do not have such feature as mac's bonjour does, because frankly; the ease of use and simplicity of it is; is amazing!

am i correct? does windows collaboration don't allow me to connect directly to the printer?

From what I have read I am almost sure it will feature something like that; someone who is running the Vista RC1 or RC2 can probably confirm this for you.
