Everytime I turn on my laptop, vista switches to basic theme + lower resolution & color
So I should change the resolution manually

How can I find the program which force vista to use it?

I noticed in your sig you're using 177.xx drivers. Did you update that driver onto an existing driver? If you did go to nvidia's website and download the utility that completely uninstalls drivers from the OS and registry. Then reinstall your drivers.

It sounds to me like a video driver issue. ;)

Check if there are any programs running / auto stating which might be running in compatibility mode or try downgrading the Driver .
