Well, slow boot, drop in FPS and increase in temp. In any case, tries uninstalling it. Did what it said on MS site, uninstalled SP, rebooted. First it was saying "Uninstalling ...." then it said "Could not uninstall... Reverting changes" and after 20 min I still have SP2.

    Any ideas?
P.S. Didn't do the system restore, since I didn't do any chages.
P.P.S. It did install few updates for sp2 after I first installed it.

Did you do any system cleanup or tweaking after installing, like running CCleaner and removing installation files?

Search your system for log files (of the form *.log) and see if you find something that looks like a log file for the service pack, or for "sp" or anything else that sounds like it's related to SP2 - for example, on my XP-Pro system I have a log file named servicepack.log that is a fairly detailed log of the process the system went through to install SP3 on my system the last time I had to do a fresh installation using an SP2 CD.

If you can find the log file that relates either to SP2 in general, or to the attempt(s) to uninstall it, you should be able to pinpoint what's causing the uninstall to fail.

lol. I installed sp2 before (beta) but it felt like my laptop got a motherload of bloatware dumped inside it. Startup really got slower than before, applications takes forever to load. I smacked the whole thing with win7 instead.

Win7 makes fps drop, too. There's no good nvidea drivers for it.

These are the documented procedures for uninstalling the beta

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948537/

You obviously did method 1, my gut says Method 2 will not work for you....probably try Method 3

    I did it! I don't think it's any methods.

I uninstalled sp2, pressed restart later.
Went to system restore, restored to the day before I installed it.
THen it restarted and boom: no more sp2!
