    Why do vista service pack1 (32 bit) reads the 4 Gb ram?

    It reads it to stop it from scaring people into thinking the manufacturer cheated them out of RAM.
    It still only uses ~3.25 don't worry :p

    Vista SP1's property page only shows how much physical RAM is installed, and not how much physical RAM is actually used by the system....For that you would have to check the Performance page in Task Manager, and see the amount shown for Total Physical Memory.

    Yes , my Welcome Page says i have 4GB installed but Task Manger , WinVer shows that i have only 3.58GB RAM ;D
