I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 that I'd like to keep the image on. I have an SSD (Samsung 256GB) that I'd like to copy the image over to. I've done some searching and read that by cloning, I can throw off the alignment, and there are tools to check the alignment. I don't have any partitions, mainly want to use it to run all the programs I currently have. I have Achronis True image that I would use to clone the discs if that is a decent route to go. Would it be better to create a recovery disc and go that route?

Have there been any updates to Vista that support TRIM the way Win 7 does? Any advice would be appreciated. I've done a few searches, but didn't come up with any clear answers. I'm new to SSDs, but not computers. Just picked up a few SSDs recently.
