I have a new dv6448se white with vista home premium. I'm trying to burn some AVI files to DVD format but cannot get it done. Using windows dvd maker at first did not even let me add the avi files (mostly movies) and when I finally added them it would crash at 99% finished. I've herd that its a problem with some codecs that need to be unregistered. The funny thing is that I cant find those files and the regsvr32 thing doesnt seem to work with me. I also have a version of Roxio that wont even let me add the AVI files. Any suggestions would be great

    Thanks

    Nero 8.... thank me later....

It costs, but it is well worth the investment. In the "extra downloads" (on the website) you can download more free dvd templates... they include three or four in the original download.

Nero finally grew up to a product I could recommend... I never really cared for it before. I'd install and have issues.... last night I played with it for maybe four straight hours, without one issue. All the programs are well-polished and fairly easy to use. Although, it took me a minute to get a grip on what each program actually did... some seem to do the same fuction on the surface, but when you start playing with them, you realize they are two different products, for two different purposes.

I went Nero on Vista as well. Lots of bloatware apps, but it always works....

I used to say that as well... but now most those "bloatware apps" have a reason for me. I forget which one, but one app can actually record songs from the net... The dvd app was a life-saver. My other app on xp does not work on vista (it is an old app from I think windows 98 era). Guess most of those apps would seems like bloatware, until you find a purpose for it...

I'd say that nero finally got it together... they do need to work on making the programs named so people understand what they do....

Also, you can go into the interface and remove any programs you don't want.

Ahh. I was not aware of that, as I'd like to remove some stuff. I keep getting a warning box after bootup that the "InCD service cannot start".
