I don't recall when this started happening, but I realized that I cannot add "visible" icons to my desktop, as well as not being able to left click (and drag) on my desktop. The quicklaunch buttons (show desktop and 3d flipview) don't work either, but I found a tutorial on how to fix that....

If I right click and, for example, click Add->Folder, the folder does NOT show up on my desktop, BUT the new file is shown in my desktop folder. What's going on???

I'm using objectdock, rainmeter, and a custom theme...not sure if these apps affected it somehow...

Have you tried right-clicking on your desktop and select View - Show Desktop Icons?

Either that, or your custom theme is fuxing it up. It's probably the theme.
