    Could find an old thread..

My problem is that during my gaming (PES 08) vista puts the screen to sleep. The problem is that I don't use the keyboard, playing with a pad. So when not touching the screen for a while, vista puts it to sleep according to my regular settings. Is there a way to prevent this, without changing the overall settings? I know this can be done with some mediaplayers, but how about other programs?

    Thanks for answers!

That's a good question. I had this problem happen playing Gears of War. If you find a solution, let me know. The best thing I can recommend is to have your screen saver start after 30 minutes of inactivity. I also have the same problem with WMP.

Yeah thanks for those contributes, but I was thinking of a way to just disable screen-closing for some specific programs, not all... But maybe that's not possible?

    I might have a workaround.
In Vista you can create custom power plans (or modify the existing ones). You can create one for games which disable sleep completely, and another plan to have the sleep enabled. Have the power option icon is the task bar, and you may switch between plans quickly by clicking the icon and select the desired plan.

    Pai,
I was actually planning something like that myself. It's still not exactly what I was looking for, but I think this is the best one if we have to do a "overall" solution...
