    Hello ,
I bought notebook with Win Vista Home Pro , it is Sony Vaio . I wanted to do downgrade to XP because of all old stuff , like driver for Apogee Mini-Me (usb audio card)which I really need for work .
But it is not possible because Sony Vaio dont offer (and wont offer) drivers for XP .
So I have to stay with Vista , but my problem is driver for Mini-Me because Apogee doesnt offer Vista driver .
So I tried to install XP driver . At the end installation failed , but driver seems to be installed (viz photo) , but there is an problem "code 10" and device is not available for programs .

Is it possible to fix this problem in Vista ?

    thanks you a lot

You can try and run the driver installer in the XP-compatibility mode....

Just because sony doesn't offer the drivers on their website, doesn't mean you can't use non-Sony drivers!!

Make a thread stating your exact hardware specs and I'm sure the NBR will get you an answer in no time. Maybe there's already a thread about a similir xp downgrade... check the sony section of this forum.

PS: Installing drivers in XP compatibility mode normally doens't cut it... Drivers are pretty OS specific.

If you're running the Apogee connected to the MBox via S/PDIF, you shouldn't need Apogee drivers....
If that isn't possible - Dual boot vista and XP and search for similar drivers installed in vista (Device manager will give you the full name and model of the device), then on the device manufacturer's site and you should be able to find an XP driver....and then if you are running out of HDD space get rid of vista, though you will have the best of both worlds with dual-boot....
