Vista won’t give me access to uninstall Windows Live Mail!

I’m using IE8-RC1, which is working perfectly, except ironically, the only application it seems to be in conflict with is Windows Live Mail. I tried the “compatibility mode” option which didn’t help, (even added Windows Live Mail to the list of apps to always run in compatibility mode), so I thought I would uninstall it and reinstall it – hoping the new download would solve the problem. However. . . Vista won’t give me access to uninstall Windows Live Mail. When I right click on it there’s no prompt to run as administrator, and I’ve already turned off UAC. Does anyone have a solution?

It looks like there may be no solution to this problem. I was hoping that someone would have an idea. If there really is no solution, do you think it would help to download a new Windows Live Mail on top of the old one that is apparently corrupted?

why would you need WLM to run in compatibility mode?
I would try a reinstall to see if you can uninstall after as a first step.
perhaps try using something like revo uninstaller to monitor the install and then use it to uninstall if it cannot.
Have you also tried MS's Windows Installer Clean-Up?

If you have microsoft outlook, there is a connector plug in which lets you use live/hotmail accounts.
