Hi I installed the RC1(the beta version, one that says it's "evaluation copy" on your desktop background) a while ago and I've been using it ever since. I have a question about this RC1 version. I have no problem using it and haven't had any problems. I was wondering when the real SP1(final release) comes out, will I have to uninstall RC1 first to get the SP1 in the window update? I was just curious because I don't want to be missing out the real SP1.
Peace~!

Yes you will have to uninstall it. The RC1 expires in June I believe.
*Backup everything before uninstalling it* -
I did just to be safe, took about 20mins. When I installed the final version the installation process looked different. This doesn't mean the service pack data is different.
BTW, I'm pretty sure RC1 Fresh 2 didn't have a time bomb but better safe than sorry. -
Why backup before Uninstall? Will all programs installed during RC1 Period get deleted or smthg?
What data may i lose? -
Because when I tried, the uninstaller kept looping for 6 straight hours and I had to reformat my HDD

How do I uninstall this RC1? I believe I have to go to Program and Feature and look up in Windows Updates. But I don't know which one to uninstall. I don't know the update number(ex. KB904040)

Should be fairly obvious lol. I remember mine was labeled Vista Service Pack 1 or something.

"Service Pack For Microsoft Windows (KB936330)"
