Vistas defrag is terrible. Just download and use Auslogics disk defrag. Its free and works great.

If you know how to or dont mind paying, Diskeeper is one of the best defraggers I've ever used.

Yep, I use Diskeeper. Starts defragging when your idling, stop when you use the computer and you can schedule too.

I use O&O. I didn't think Microsoft could make a more useless program than XP's defragmenter, but they managed to do the impossible with Vista's. A truly thoughtless excuse for software.

Actually Windows has been using a highly gimped version of Diskeeper for quite a while. It's previous-generation Diskeeper under the hood, but in terms of GUI and functionality it's completely different. The retail version of Diskeeper is just awesome and I highly recommend it.

This is what I use as well, as it is much faster than Vista's native defragger.

I use Auslogics Disk defrag too. It is fast, even on my 4 year old computer.

Another very satisfied Diskeeper Pro user here. Once installed and configured, Diskeeper on automatic mode does defragmentation automatically if needed. Very neat.
