I uninstalled Vista OS X and deleted every folders I could find from my computer but I still have icons, "apple screen", welcome screen...

Is there anyway to fix it ?

    Thanks

I'm assuming you installed this: http://www.vistaosx.net/faq.htm

They claim that they create a system restore point, I'd try to go back to that day if possible.

Also, you may want to scan your system with an up to date Anti-Virus. Several people, myself included, got Trojan and virus warnings from our antivirus software while attempting to install it. http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/vi...te=false&aff_id=0&locale=en-us&os_ver=6.0.1.0

That's why I didn't follow through, canceled the install, and ran a full scan.

    Good Luck,
    Ricky :)

meh, i have the same problem cept i got rid of my system restores and also i installed it in like june, it's so annoying, i ended up deleting theme.exe and stuff but now i get error messages on boot up.

edit: isn't the trojan warning ect because it edits parts of the system?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    No virus, trojans or anything.
Checked their site and found out about their system restore point but the oldest one I have is barely 5 days old. It's been like 1 month and a half since I uninstalled Vista OS X.

Couldn't I fiddle with some windows files ?

    Thanks again

For the login screen, try Vista Logon by stardock.

    I got that before.

If this helps, somehow i found the path of the theme itself and where it was located, then SHREDDED it. Im not sure how i did it, but maybe you can find out how... Sorry.

Themes path should be something similar to (depending on your boot drive):

    C:\Windows\Resources\Themes

Also, some themes (I'm guessing this one included) modify Windows system files. You'll need to patch them with the originals... Google it... I've never done that. :p

Had to reinstall Windows since it was getting more and more unstable for some reasons so it naturally solves my problem with the Vista OS X theme, which is definitely a crappy theme by the way.

Thanks for all your replies. :)

Your welcome, but i do think it was a bit of a harsh decision, as im sure it could have been fixed w/o a full re-install.

But, i do understand your point. Ive been there before. :)
