I have Windows Vista Home Premium. It comes with Media Center. BUT for some reason I cant find it anywhere on my computer.I search for "Windows Media Center" nothing show up except "Windows Media Player". Also when I go to Start then to Search I type in "media" an Icon comes up with the 3 free movies that are in Media Center, Vertigo, Apollo 13 etc. They are icons with the Media Center logo on it and I click it it opens up Media Center and starts playing the sample movie. But I want to start Media Center from the main screen not playing a sample movie. I just cant find the darn program anywhere it has to be on my computer somewhere because it plays the sample movies and opens up media center.

ANy suggestions also i want to pin the program to my start menu programs but I cant find it. Is there a way I can search the C drive?

I have the business version of vista, so no media center for me. I know you can start it with the remote (that you should have?). OS X's FrontRow starts with either the remote, or by pressing Cmd+Escape. I'll bet Vista's got some similiar hotkey.

edit: Actually, my new bet is that Microsoft hates you and wants you to buy a "Media Center Keyboard" or some related nonsense, and so didn't include a hotkey.

Anyhow, somebody help this guy out. There's got to be some way to activate media center without a remote.

Microsoft doesn't hate him, but it sounds like Dell does. There should be an icon in Start --> All Programs that's called, quite creatively "Windows Media Center, and located directly above Windows Media Player.

Since it's not, select "Run" (or hit Window key + R) then type "%SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe" into the run box. Hit enter, and Media Center should start. I think you're given the option of creating a desktop icon during the setup, but you can also just create an icon that points to that same location.

    Hope that helps.
